This will be my seventh cat:
Morris 1 ... my dad found near the tennis courts at which he played while I was growing up on Long Island. We had up until mid-80's.
Missy ... had for a short time and then took very ill.
Morris 2 ... we adopted from animal shelter mid-80's and brought to Florida until ran over by car end of '91 in Orlando. This cat had the personality of a five year old child. Followed me everywhere - walked me to school bus, was waiting at school bus upon returning from home, took bird hunting around neighborhood, loved to ride in cars and sit on your shoulders. Put to sleep at age 14.
Harry ... adopted from a litter that would play with Morris 2. He had six toes on front paws. Moved with me from Orlando to Daytona, and then ultimately Palm Coast. He got his name from the movie "Wise Guys" in which the main characters are Harry Valentin (Danny DeVito) and Moe Dickstein (Joe Piscopo). Put to sleep at age 15.
Felix ... a co-worker brought a bunch of strays in a box to the newspaper where my wife and I worked. Solid black long-hair with a ninja face and the sweetest disposition. Would steal shrimp out of your hands if you weren't careful. Was outlived by Harry and Casper. Put to sleep at age 10.
Casper ... we found near in-laws coming home from a St. Patrick's Day party. His tail had to be clipped after he got it caught under a wooden rocking chair. When we found him, he couldn't have been more than eight pounds. He turned into 20 lbs. of solid muscle. You could see them flex as he walked and he was a real drooler. He became diabetic after being given a steroid to get rid of a flea infection. As with Harry and Felix, he had to be put down from kidney failure. Put to sleep at age 14.
Waylon ... celebrating his first full week with us. As far as I can tell, I think he's already been neutered. And, he's got a whole bunch of new toys.
