I'm confused...isn't the purpose of "Louisville", wherever it's held, to get together and have fun? Lexington is not that far from Louisville and has a lot of interesting stuff to do...or do we all want to just do the same stuff over and over?
Damn. Really Bob, Dan and Mary?
Yeah, maybe Louisville has been, as you call it; "beat to death".
It is about a get-together, people familiar with their surroundings, etc..
Which is why everyone keeps coming back, and bringing new members along.
Louisville started as a one time event touring a Distillery. It grew. And it grew, to what is one the most attended meets of our Marauder community. Next to an MV, which still comes damn close.
For nine years, I put everything I had into this event. I grew tired and while I enjoyed doing it every year, it was time to hand it over to someone locally.
I quit while ahead. So-to-speak.
Once that happened, suddenly, it was taken away from Bill without warning, nor him being told where it's going to be held. Without concessions made.
The ownership never once dictated what I scheduled, and had it gone down that way, well... It would not have ended well.
For either parties involved.
Now, this is at a crossroad that I never imagined would happen.
Should Bill continue planning Louisville under my experience and guidance in spite of the ownership? Or bow and conform?
Bill is the only one that can answer that question.
If it were me, you know what my answer would be.
