Lowering my Marauder

This is one of the first mods I think I will perform. I just bought my car yesterday. I've read thread after thread about this and most seem to lean towards cutting off 1 full coil in the front and doing something in the rear. Being unfamiliar with this cars rear suspension I'm blind on this. I really havent seen a DIY for the rears. This is something I may want to do this coming weekend. I've lowered mustangs and other cars that used coils springs with no problem.

I guess I'm wanting to know should I:

A)Go ahead and replace the air bags with coil springs or wait until they go out

B)Lower the rear using the air bags(whenever I find a DIY)

My car only has 30,300. I love it.

For the rear, all you have to do is loosen ONE nut and slide the thing one way or another. It takes 10 minutes to raise and lower the rear end. I really can give decent direction because I would have to be under my car to do so, but I am sure someone will chime in with the pic needed to show how to do it. It is so simple you won't believe it!

Just remember also if you car has traction control the rear must be slightly higher than the front by a minimal of 3 degrees difference also including the height of the rear tires providing they are a larger size then the front tires.

?

For traction control not to :puke: the rear tires have to be 3% bigger than the front tires. Really don't think rear ride height has anything to do with traction control.

Some people have front size tires all around when they get them from the dealership, that would throw off height correct from front to rear. That's what I meant.
 
Yes I have larger tires on the rear. Yes I have traction control as well.

Thanks for the pic. I found it as I kept searching after this post. Looks easy enough. I'll be doing this real soon as I find the time to do the front and rear during the week so I can have it aligned the next day. Dont want to wait til Saturday and its down all weekend. I love this forum already. Thanks for all the help

Some people even go to the point of taking measurements from ground to top dead center of the wheel well before and after when lowering so they can keep the car in the same aspect or make corrects.

Just make sure if you jack the car up you turn off the rear air suspension system.

And use jack stands any time your underneath a vehicle.
 
Thanks for all the advice and information. I've been a member of several forums, but I admit this is one of the nicer
 
Should I go ahead and remove the flags while I'm lowering my car tomorrow? That way i dont have to worry about the Alignment shop removing them when they align my car?
 
OK fellas! 1 whole coil cut and removed from the front and everything is back together. Removed the flags as well. Front tires also show wear on the inside and outside on both tires. What a waste of good tires. Car only has 30,400 miles.

Have not done the rear yet. I guess turn the air ride back on and pull it out the garage and pull it straight back in and then adjust the rear.
Funny thing as I did this and plus drove it around the block. I still have the same measurements as before. Weird!!!! I know when I lower my mustangs, I usually go with eibach sportlines and cut a coil off them to get the look I want. I dont know what to do with these factory springs

What should I do to lower this thing?

Should I cut another coil?
