Marauder to return in 2007 with 6.2L 4V

OK OK the article says that it will be for the new F-150 but seeing that Chrysler put that Hemi in the Dodge Magnum & 300C it is conceivable that the Marauder returns with an extra 100 or so cubic inches....now we just have to have Triology redo the supercharger. That should give us or 550 to 700 HP....Martyo can sponsor a new race team with Jrzygrl & myself for Daytona 500.....remember that "....rubbin is racin" :banana2: :banana2:

P.S.

Since I was the first to post on this I am entitled to all the credit :coolman:

This is Ford's bread and butter. With competition coming on strong from Nissan as well as GM and Dodge and Toyota developing a real full size truck Ford has to beef up it's game to stay on top. They have seen their market share drop in the car market and will do more to overcome. As long as trucks make the profit they do for Ford they will make them priority.

I agree. When you consider that Ford sells more than 800,000 F150's each year, you can see where the profit is. I find this news exciting and can only salivate over what SVT might be able to do with it on future Lightning models. However, the new Hemi powered Rams do not get very good gas mileage(even for a big truck), and i'm very curious how bad fuel economy will be with a 6.2 litre V8. More-so than a big V8, I actually wish there was a diesel engine that was available in the F150 line............

Sure I understand all that about the trucks. I'd just like to see them mention that they are also going to be developing a version for use in passenger cars.

The Nissan truck, which many said would be serious competition for the F150, so far hasn't been. Neither has Toyota, even though Toyota does their best to build a truck that looks much like a Ford.

The public is truck crazy. Go to most any Ford dealer, or probably any other one for that matter, and about 3/4's of their lot is filled w/trucks. It's been a big fad now for some time, and therefore, I wouldn't count on Ford bringing back the Marauder, especially not w/a 6.2L engine under the hood. I wish they would, but I doubt it.

How about a nice RWD Focus with a 6.2L engine under the hood then?......:burnout:

A focus? No way. I think they would really have to be in some serious HP wars to even consider that, and you wouldn't see me even test driving one of them. Can you say "Ugly"???? The Ford 427 concept car could become a reality perhaps, but there again, NOT my cup of tea, cuz I just can't stand that blocky looking body style. The thing looks like a brick on wheels to me. I guess I'm more picky than you guys are.

It's been posted on here before, but you obviously missed it, so here ya go......

If ford does this right this could be BAD! I like the looks except the front end! Put the 5.4 and make it a six speed. Maybe a Rauder replacemant!

FORD platforms

With the new Ford 500/Merc Montego boasting such space efficient platforms (interior room and trunk space), I wonder how long Ford will keep selling panther based models.

If they do keep selling them, I can't see Ford putting much money into the product for updating.

I guess we'll know in 2007 when the redesigned Towncar should be announced.

The 427 concept reminds me of something.

Oh yeah, the 300C. I think it's a little nicer looking, but still not my favorite.

Front end needs some work. Kinda Caddy-ish.
