Terrific...I too have written R at Cone Eng and am excited to maybe get a production run going before his 'sometime next year' timetable he told me about last communication...I will definately be on the pre-order list when we get it going.

awesome thanks! Keep us informed of any progress. I am in for a set:D

Not sure if I would be willing to wait till next YEAR. May just polish mine up and keep them or move on to something different.

i think they should have came this way from stock

bigger is better :D and yes thats what she said
so put me on the list for a spare set of 4' just send me a PM when the times comes thanks

I sent Rich an EM and hopefully will help get the spark we need for this. I am down for a set (possibly 2 if it can boost the interest gauge!) :-)

So it looks like Sept is when they will take PreOrders. Below is the email I received from Rich. 30 commits per size so we're going to need at least 60 orders

Hi Ryan,
We'll likely start taking preorders in Sept for both 3.50" and 4". If there is enough interest (about 30 committed sets per size) the we will plan production for a completion the beginning of December. We don't like to take orders this far in advance as it can get really confusing. Spread the word, and feel free to post the message if you would like.

In reading the quoted email from Rich at Cone Eng, does he mean (1) they need at least 30 commitments for both sizes in order to do the production run; or (2) just 30 commitments for one of the sizes in order to start the production for that size?

In other words, will they do the 4" tips if we get a minimum of 30 peeps lined up for the 4" tips?

Just thinking it would be easier to get people lined up for the 4" size as that is what appears to be the coveted item rather than the 3.5" size.

That is what he did for us last year. He didn't get enough for the 3.5" but we did for the 4" and made the run. I hope you guys are able to make this happen again.

I thought last year's 'magic number' was 20...and we just barely got that...22 or 23 orders, IIRC.

Good luck to you all...if it looks like you might fall short of the # required, I'd be willing to buy a set for someone who wants 'em but doesn't have the money available when the deadline arrives.

It was 20 last year. I was referring to Rich running the 4" only since there wasn't much interest in the 3.5". Sorry I wasn't clear.

Lets be positive, I'm sure there's a ton of interest in 4"s. I'd buy 2 sets if it meant getting over the number required for the build.

Between this site and the other marauder.net sites we hopefully will get enough guys who can commit.

Really, what is the alternative? Most other tips look terrible without the rolled edges........

I'll have two 4" sets too. Even if we can't get more than 20 orders (which I doubt) we'll sure get a couple of orders from other websites like CVN and Facebook groups.

:Di got a set last year and im down for another set as a spare

so by looking at just this page we already have about 15 pairs of 4' and yea the 3.5 isnt gonna happen i can tell you that now, didnt happen last year with only like 8 sets and im sure it will not hapoen again this year

so lets just worry bout the 4' so we need 30 sets and already have a godo 10-15 so lets make this happen some1 just send me a PM when payment time is ready and my set will be paid for asap thanks again

these 4' tips looks awesoem way better than the 3.5 bigger is better

i know thats what she said :D:lol:

You were clear...just making sure IRC...lol. And the fact that we just did get enough with 20; this year's min is 30. Wonder why he upped the min to 30 though? There seemed to be quite a few members that posted up their diappointment in 'missing out' on last year's run after the deadline passed...hope those same members are aware there's another chance...

Prolly didn't make squat on the twenty last time, what with tooling set up, etc.

You know the old saying, "money talks and ::bs:walks?" If you guys want to make this happen, somebody needs to contact Cone Engineering and set up an account to make money-down deposits on orders, as he's going to need FIRM commitments on these; and putting some cash on the barrel is a good way to make a commitment.
