MM Pricing?

Greetings everyone,I'm looking at replacing my long lost Mustang with an '04 MM and I was curious to what anyone else's experience was regarding the actual purchase price was vs. KBB or NADA. I have been noticing these references seem to be a little light on pricing versus what vehicles appear to be selling for.I don't know if this is just my perception or if there actually is a difference.Any input would be appreciated.Can't wait to purchase and start "playing" again.Thanks for your time.
 
Find a car dealer that will look thru a auction guide,What a dealer will pay wholesale is about all you want to pay.
 
Welcome! I think the KBB can be used as a guide. There are some very nice gently used MM coming up for sale lately. There are also some pigs. The local selection is very poor. Do not be afraid to travel to get one! I went to Boston to get mine:D

I think the problem areas are pretty well defined and if you can avoid purchasing someone else problems then you are way ahead. Ask around, use the resources on the board etc.

Yeah but getting a dealer to agree sell at wholesale is... well... tough to say the least. Not saying it can't be done just tough as heck.

FWIW I paid 24k for mine in Jan '05 with 10K on the odo.
 
If you check autotrader.com and ask to see all the Marauders in the country regardless of distance you will get a list of 150-200 cars with asking prices. Most of them will be dealers' listings. Rule of thumb is that dealers' selling is 8-10% below their asking.

KBB price estimates are below Edmund and NADA. I don't know who is right.
 
You can also look on Ebay to either buy one, or get a good idea of their going rate.

MM pricing

A friend here in St. Louis has an '03 7500 mile garage queen. No mods whatsoever. Even smells new. As you get close to a purchase, if you're interested, PM me & I will get you in touch.

For reference, locality plays some part in the pricing, but I paid $18,000 for my silver '03 with 30K miles. Perfect paint/interior, 6CD changer, full set of new tires...from a Ford dealership. Timing helps too, hit 'em towards the end of the month...quota time.
 
I bought mine back on Dec 2, 2005 from a L/M dealership where it was sold new, serviced and traded back in. 04 silver MM with 40,323 miles they wanted $21,449 as being the only one in MD at the time with 6-disc and heated seats in a 150 mile radius I bought it and haven't stopped smiling since then. Price will range from 18K-22K from what I see on autotrader.com and cars.com.
 
In Jan. '05, I paid $21.5K for my used '03, with only 629 mi. on the clock. In essence, the car was new (and in fact it almost still is, as even still I have < 3K mi. on it.)

I've seen maybe one or two other prices that actually beat even this one, but it's definitely up there as far as steals go. The fact that I bought it from an out of the way, small town, unaffiliated dealer definitely had a favorable pricing impact.
 
I paid 21k for my 2004 in November of 2005.
Prices are ranging currently from 15k for a high mileage 03 to 22k for garage queens.
 
I got my '03 Black 300A in January. It had 32,000 miles in it. It was sold at the Dealership, to an employee (the head detailer), and then traded back in there. I got it for about $20K, but I had to roll some negative over from my '05 GMC Sierra Crew Cab w/ 6K on the clock. Hard to tell what I really paid due to how they work the numbers, but I think $20K is close.

I bought mine from a dealer too. When I first saw the 03 300a on the lot it had 51,000 on the clock and they wanted 18,900 for it. so it sat on the lot for about a month and I saw they wanted 17,300. I was like wow thats not to bad I guess. well i waited 1nd it went to 15,500 well I offered them 13,900 couse I knew they wanted it gone and they took it. The car was in perfect shape. the only seat ever used was the drivers seat. find one and see what you can do at talkin them down. at first they said no and I was walkin out and they stopped me. so good luck.
 
Thanks for all your input.I have found an 04 garage queen with less than 7000 miles on it.I don't want to insult the owner with my offer,yet pay more than I have to.This info should help to keep both parties satisfied.Thanks again,hopefully it'll be mine soon.
 
I bought mine from the original owner late last summer down by winnona MN I paid 16,500 with 30k and stock and mint. I know of one around buffalo MN with 45k if you want me to track it down again let me know.
