Wanted To Buy Need OEM MM radio head unit

Escape head unit

This is a good time to butt in and ask these questions about the Escape unit with 6 CD 'built in.'

This is the head unit that comes under various names such as "Mach 300," "Pioneer," etc. Correct?

The salvage radio folks say that this unit is incompatible with the Marauder unit. Is this simply the plugs, or is there something else involved?

I know that there is a separate Sat module you need if you want to hook up the SiriusXM, but are there any other problems?

Will the Escape head unit result in improved sound over the original unit (with the 6CDs in the trunk)? My original unit is muddy and bass-heavy even with upgraded aftermarket speakers, and I'm not a rapper.

Thanks folks, and to drwhy, there are a bunch of the Escape-type units on eBay for prices ranging between $175 and $250.

the best audiophile units came from, i think 2005-2007 ford escape and mercury mariner. .they sound better, plug and play for factory look. prices mostly $125-200. try car-part.com, thats where i found mine on my first marauder

Info on the "Escape" headunit.

Ford Audiophile unit to replace stock MM.
P/N: 6L8T-18C815-FD
Runs the factory sub and there is no need for the stock changer as the audiophile system has an integrated 6-disc unit. Everything is right at your fingertips including steering wheel control function.

Thank you for the info
