Need help no heat. When I go to turn on the heat all I hear is the actuator door move into position. No air comes out of vents. Same when I press defrost or floor button. We’re do I start ? TY.
99% chance its the blower motor resistor in the passenger side of the engine bay mounted to the hvac box. You may be able to kick it online for a while by smacking it with the handle of a screwdriver.
Sorry to hear about your problem. The HVAC system is a common concern in our cars. I've had hot air blowing out the floor and defrost vents for years. This makes driving in the summer cooking, with the driver being cooked!
But I've also had no heat in the wintertime. Try runninng the EATC (Electronic Auto Temperature Control) module self-test. To enter the self-test, press the OFF and FLOOR buttons simultaneously and then press the AUTOMATIC button. The display will show a pulse tracer going around the center of the display window. This may cause the heat to default into the defrost position.
The most common problem is the blower control module which is mounted to the heater box behind the passenger side cam cover. Turn the heat on and then whack the module with a screwdriver or hammer handle which sometimes will make it start working. It will need to be replaced. If not the problem check fuses and see if there is power going to the blower motor.
