No oil pressure, no power, and cuts off.

Driver error? Lol. Thanks for the douche input.
Anyway. Mechanic looked at an thinks the it's a combination of oil pump
And maybe bearing has gone. Looks like I will be posting it for sale or trade on a CRv .
Thanks for the helpful posters.

I read Bob's post and knew exactly what he meant, you take it as an insult?

Your mechanic......you should get a second opinion. Besides, you said you loved them car, so fix it, 3k at the most, still cheaper than a new car.

If it were me I would put a mech gauge on it and test the actual pressure. Def sounds oil pump related, could be a couple things. Personally I would put a new oil pump in it for peace of mind, they are relatively cheap. Pickup tube could be loose or clogged also.

It almost sounds like a clogged fuel filter? Unfortunately I am just guessing.

My oil pump was not bad but I changed it to a Melling M227 this weekend during my timing chain project. FordTechMakuloco does it in a video for a 5.4L Expedition, that's what gave me the confidence to do it. I was terrified of dropping a bolt into the pan but patience prevailed and I avoided the hassle of dropping the pan.

Don't change the oil pump without getting a proper diagnosis. It is a full two days to change out, at least it was for someone who never did it before and was working on jackstands in a driveway.

Interesting trip hauling this thing home on a u-haul trailer. Everywhere I stopped (gas stations, rest areas, etc) people were checking it out, taking pictures, asking about it. You just don't get that reaction with most cars.

I definitely concur.
