Order Your Marauder NOW!

STAPrap

500 a day!
Hi Gents,if you have any friends & family have them order their Marauders now if they've been thinking about it.
The Marauder is done sometime next month.I will be a little disappointed to see it go already.
However I have been told that the Marauder will be re-introduced in some time to come.So we'll have to wait and see.
Have a good weekend guys!!!

I was under the impression that the order window for Marauder closed several weeks ago.

It was. You can't order any only what the dealers have in stock or on order. No new orders can be placed. :depress:

'04 preliminary production numbers?

If production has ceased on the '04, does anyone have any production numbers???

I believe that the current production of the Maraduer ceases on the last business day of June.
We should be able to get production numbers by the end of the following quarter.

Somewhere, I found the info that as of the first Monday in June....when the morning crew punches in, that the Marauder will not be built. I am trying to locate it....

I have been told that the Marauder will be re-introduced again in a few years to come.
So keep a positive attitude towards the next one.Maybe Ford will have learned something from this past re-introduction?
Maybe I will buy one then too when I am more financially secure.
I've got to tell you, nice car guys. When ever I am in Michigan I see tons of them.
Cheers!!!!

I think Ford's biggest failure with this MM (sales wise, not package wise) was that they didn't include as much technological advancement as they should have. It's been well known that the car was a parts bin special that hit the market with an overly optimistic price tag. The new 300s appear to have the gadgetry (suspension, engine technology, etc.) that generates interest from the general public when it coincides with a model introduction.

Ford could have perhaps pushed the technological envelope of the body-on-frame full-size car by including some active suspension development, perhaps some whiz-bang steering innovations like the magnetic steering system on the new big Pontiacs, maybe some drive-by-wire types of safety doodads (proximity detection, collision alerts)... etc.

I might not have been interested in all these gadgets, but it would have certainly brought the spotlight on the car as a showcase for advanced vehicle designs using a traditional RWD full frame platform as a base.

Oh well...

I like what I got, but I wish it had garnered a little more of the spotlight than it did...

by that time most of the current Marauder owners will be driving something else, most likely it won't even be a Ford...

You doubt owner loyalty eh!?

Ok, well not from me...I might not care as long as it's American, but Ford seems to have the better design on the inside, which is where it matters for me.

But the CTS is nice:rolleyes:

If the Marauder will truly be reintroduced in the future, then that makes me happy. I generally like to change cars every few years and that may be just in time! I hope Ford does it right and gives it real muscle if they plan on marketing it again as a muscle sedan. Hmmm.........

My wish list

1. MSRP under $40k
2. new 6.1 litre V8 they are releasing for their F150 in the future
3. optional navigation system
4. a "real" stereo system option
5. AWD if possible

In my opinion, which is free of course, they also made the famous Impala SS mistake of only offering it in black the first round of production. They continued the mistake of not offering it in every color the Grand Marquis came in each year. They also made the mistake of not having a low end package so more people that wanted one could afford one. A lot of people who bought the Crown Victoria LX Sport would probably have bought a Marauder if it was $3,000 less, even if it included cloth seating

I'll tell you what I think would have sold like hotcakes...... a dark metallic green, a/k/a Bristish Racing Green, with tan cloth interior. Even if they had to use the Police Interceptor bucket seats.

(sitting back and waiting for the :bounce: now!

I would have bought this color combo in a heartbeat....but, forget the cloth...tan leather!

Bob

PS-Russ, my MM and I will be together for many, many years.

I don't run an auto mfg. co for a living so there may be a lot of factors I don't understand but here is my 2 cents.
1. Why didn't they just offer the the DOHC as an option like the handling package?
2. Why didn't they offer a stripped version for those who wanted one that way? I for one, wanted cloth seats. Given the choice, I would have bought the stripped version. I don't need the chrome wheels and all the other goodies.

I still miss my Vic

I could not stand it anymore and it was a tough choice,Giving up my one of a kind LX Sport. But I am glad I did.I just hope there a little smarter about there marketing in the next version.
