Prayers needed

Waymon, so sorry to hear. Debbie, my better half is a hospice RN; take advantage of all that hospice offers, a good hospice can be a godsend to the family as well as your father, making him comfortable, therefore making your mom's life easier, accept their advice with an open mind. Debbie experiences too many families that surprisingly don't want the patient to have pain meds, because they don't want them to get addicted, etc to drugs like morphine. A good nurse can prescribe the right amount to take the edge off the pain, but not leave him doped up, making for a more pleasant time for all involved. She may even be able to get assistance for a few hours, just so that she can have a break. Don't be afraid to talk to his hospice team about what help is available for your parents. The more communication, the better.

I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers, Keep us posted.
Ken
Wonderful advice, Ken.

Thanks EVERYONE for your prayers and well wishes.

Today was a good day for him. He was able to muster little more energy and move unassisted in bed (side to side). He sat up in his wheelchair and watched the Olympics for a bit. Ate a little better, what he did eat. He still refused to go to dialysis today, but that is good and bad. Bad he hasn't been since Wednesday, good because he can save what little energy he has since the sessions drain it away.

Ken, you are right about hospice. They bought the comfort pack Friday. We haven't had to use any of it yet. Two nurses and a social worker come out Saturday and Sunday to explain it all to us. The one nurse yesterday was so sweet and cute to us and especially mom... WISH WE COULD KEEP HER.

Waymon, sorry to hear of your Dad's health issues.
Prayers ongoing for your Dad and all of you !!

My father passed away peacefully this morning. Same position that I last saw him in bed last night.

We are all doing as well as can be expected at this time. Rememoring the good times and the life of a truly great man in my life.

Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes.

Sorry for your loss brother. He is in Gods hands now. Celebrate his life and remember all the good things.
