Pro Guard rear skid plate, is it worth it?

Am driving to Canada soon. Was wondering to buy this before going to drive 800 miles back and forth dose it really save gas? is worth it to buy?

Should have bought a Honda if you were worried about gas mileage. It doesn't offer much of a performance benefit. I noticed no change in my mpg after installing it on my first MM but I also have a heavy foot and average a couple mpg less than I should.

As said by other members it does prevent your rear bumper from ballooning out and is worth it just for that reason. You can spend $60 to prevent spending a few hundred when you have to replace and paint your bumper cover.

This is an item I've contemplated buying for years. It stands to reason, the more air it catches the more it ballons out, and catches even MORE air. It acts like a parachute. Maybe only slightly, but it has to have a negative affect as speed increases, or sagging just from age makes it even worse. I'm getting one, dammit.

I wish the deal on the diamond plate I was going to get went through, I know Doom would of loved to have a shiny pro-guard. lol

I bought mine a couple of years ago, and I've noticed absolutely NO DIFFERENCE in the performance of the car or the sagging cover. I may try this weekend to get it out of the box and install it, see if that helps any.

There will be a slight noticeable difference when you finally get it out of the box. ;)

As to the original question, you will save no more than $1.96 in gas on an 800 mile trip. However, the elimination of embarrassment due to butt sag and bumper cover flapping will be PRICELESS.

No one said it would improve the performance, many peopls have stated it did in deed improve gas milage slightly on the interstate as well as help the stability of the Rear bumper.

i got one didnt notice much of a diff. looks cleaner under the car, never checked to see if i got any better gas mileage.
