Road Trip!

We are taking our MM on it's first road trip Wednesday. We are driving from our home in Jacksonville, Fl. to Maggie Valley, NC, a trip we've made a dozen times or so, by several routes. Obviously, once we reach North Ga., the roads become more fun, but are there any especially fun/scenic stretches in southern or central Georgia that would make the drive more enjoyable? We have all day to make the drive and its just under 500 mi., so we can afford to take any route we wish, I just don't like interstate driving (boring).

paheff - Have a safe enjoyable road trip. The Marauder is a fantastic car. It just loves cruising at about 75 MPH. 2200 RPM on the tack gives you the best mileage. Have fun.:D

Todd, Thanks, I had heard of the Tail of the Dragon from the ATL SVTOA, but never knew exactly where or what it was. As far as I'm concerned, West NC, East TN and extreme North Ga is what is meant by "God's country".

Interesting that you should bring that up. With the 4.10 I usually get 16.x mpg around town with a fair amount of playing. I am really curious how it will do "on the road". At 75 mph I appear to be taching about 2550 and I'm interested to see what kind of impact that has on my mileage. Thanks for the good wishes, I'm sure there will be something to tell when we get back this Sunday.

paheff - I was thinking of the stock 3.55 rear. That is what mine has and I got 24 MPH on a 2,000 mile road trip.:D

Expect about 22 mpg at best running the fuel Dennis programed for you on your chip. I ran higher than programed octane, and actually got worse milage. Have fun...keep all eyes on the morons, and watch out for MM hunters! :burnout:

Well reading this I though of what Todd said --and as usual, he beat me to the post and a day--takers a long time to read up after being gone a week--anyway--

I found your sig. to almost ref what my MM looks like--and also was wondering if you have met Dennis--which again by your sig I can tell the answer is yes--I will be down at Dennis's Shop on Wed. the 17th -if you can stop by for a meet --would be nice to say hi --Ms. marauderman will be with me...--seems we'll be whistling a new Christmas tune as we leave-----

Paheff --

I tach at exactly 2500 at 76-77 MPH with 4.10s. I set my cruise by tach now, not speedo.

Stopping by Dennis' shop on the 17th... should be no problem.
Going home jealous of your Chistmas present...still no problem.
When you know what time you'll be there, PM me or E-mail and I'll do my best to stop by with the Mrs.
