Royal Purple For H.p. Gains................

Yep, That's right, but there is more to the story than changing your engine oil. If you want to see a fairly good bang for buck H.P gains, your going to have to go with RP for all the MM's oils needs.
Thants right, rear end, trans. fluid, P.S fluid, fuel system cleaner, and coolant.
Is it worth it, I don't know. I asked my RP dealer, and although he only stocks engine oil, he would be willing to get me everyting I need at a discounted price.
Maybe worth checking into. It's a 4th generation oil/supplement, and had proven track records in NASCAR and other wheel sports.
Anyone tried going it the right way, and what if any H.P gains did you see?

I'm running Purple 5w20 synthetic in my motor, works great... HP? I dunno, don't really care... They didn't have the Mobil 1 5w20...

Logan I was wondering if you ever used Amsoil 5w20,or do you feel Royle Purple is Better. I know Royle Purple,Amsoil and Moble 1 are all great motor oils,do you know if these oils were ever tested against each other , and if so, are their any test results one could look up somewhere?
 
I don't know about any HP gains...but, I am running Royal Purple on the advice of the best Ford Master Techs around.
 
Out of curiosity, is anyone running Redline here? There was a test done a couple years ago(can't remember which magazine) using an LS1 C5 Vette, and they dyno'd more power after they switched the rear end gear lube along with the engine oil to Redline. Redline uses a fully poly-ether basestock which doesn't break down as quickly under extreme temperatures. I used to use Redline a while back, but am currently using Amsoil since it's just easier to obtain for me.

I checked with the district manager on this and am told that if you expect to gain any H.P using thier product, you will need to use all thier products. Was this a BS sales pitch or what ? You will want to use the motor oil, rear end grease, trans. fluid, power stearing fluid, fuel system cleaner, and radatior coolant. He has the specs. on what HP gains you can expect if you do " go all the way, with Royal Purple" I was told that they would also have this same report on the Royal Purple web site.
Roual Purple is a 4th generation synthetic brans of lubricants, and it makes sense that if you have less friction in the whole drive train, your gonna see some healthy results.
A few HP gains here, and there and before yu know it, your having traction problems, as I had in a simular posted thread.

HP gains with synthetic oil

I study this subject quite a bit and have a few comments.

There is eveidence that suggest thats one can gain more usable HP, and torque, to the rear wheels by switching from convnentional lubes to synthetic lubes. Some stories of gains of up to 5% have been reported. My own dyno testing provided a 3.7% usable HP and 5.4% usable torque to the wheels in a Hi Po BMW I used to own. I attributed this mostly to the driveline lubes and frankly since the car was newly acquired to me at the time, I had no idea what the baseline lubes were. As far as I know, the PO had 80W140 gear lube in the diff and my switch to 75W90 could have been where the entire gain came from. Honestly I don't know but I do have the before/after dyno reports if anyone is interetsed.

There is less to be gained on a Marauder primarily because most of the drive line lubes are synthetic, or at least partial synthetic already. The factory fill 5W20 is a semi-synthetic, Mercon V tranny fluid is also semi-synthetic (I believe) and the rear diff lube is full synthetic. So quite honestly, I doubt that you see any gain in usable HP.

Finally, are there any performance differences between brands of Synthetic lubes? Very doubtful. There will be certainly be slight diferences due to variation within a viscosity range form one brand to another but the differences are so small they would be within the margin of error of the respective dyno runs. I'd love to tell you that Amsoil is the slickest, and you'd get the most HP by switching to Amsoil vs. RP, but I can't say that.

That is a heck of a deal. It is $5.99 in stores around here. You should buy up as much as you can stand at that price.
