"Why should the old timers have to change? Youngins' can learn to adapt more readily. JMHO;)"

You would not have to at all, simply don't go there...like the regional area, I have never clicked any of the other areas besides my own. No big deal at all...

I too get frustrated by the search function here so if it can be fine tuned that would be great. As for making the site somehow more appealing to some people, I have a feeling that as many as you may please, there will be nearly as many who will not be pleased. This is essentially a niche car club. It has it's own culture and style. It may truly not appeal to some, but it does appeal to many. Speaking for myself, I was welcomed here in 2008 as a female with few car smarts but a huge interest in my Marauder. I was pleasantly shocked that I was accepted. I am a member of at least 2 other car forums, which are far more "rough and tumble" but this is where I can be myself. I credit Mary and the other owners for the general sense of comraderie and positive social discourse that I think brings us together as a cohesive group no matter our age. If I want to hang out on a site where there are no boundries and nothing is off limits, I have other sites I can go to. In fact MOST other car sites I visit are able to cater to even the lowest common denominator if that's what people want. MM.net is a rarity as far as I can see. I think there are plenty of other places on line to indulge in whatever you want. (Except joking about DTRs or saying TWSS. There is a site that will run you out of town for those offenses.) :D But I don't go there because I like to indulge my sense of humor once in a while.

Once again, not asking for the whole site to be an open brawl, not saying the site is not a great place to meet and hang out, not saying that the owners have not done a great job keeping the open forums friendly, just asking for a (singular / non public) section for those of us who want to stay within the Marauder family to have so we can blow off steam with each other.

Resistance is futile....

FINE! foot stomp!!!!!!

Okay, we are all adults (most)

I have been here roughly 18 mos. in that time I have seen some things go and others not so much. I questioned this, got told I was pot stirring (wasn't my intention- that time) I have since then come to the realization people have other things to do other than babysit a forum.

We all have different opinions about what should be acceptable. But it comes down to this: owners forum= owners rules. What's the discussion.

I/we know what is acceptable and what is not 98% of the time. So when and if that 2% gets locked or nuked just smile and nod. Several of us do talk and text and have other forums to say and do what we want. Several times I have posted then went back and deleted. Just my .02

says the pranking pot stirrer

Now I'm going back to irresponsibility

I love this bar (even though its ran like my eagles club)

Why can't here be a "enter at your own risk forum". Once in a while I go to tcg just to post in the what made you say F today. I'd rather stay here.....at home :D
I love THIS bar

O.K., so I am working on Lmark's car and I want to search the forum for AIT issues, so I click on search, then type in AIT issues, or code, or anything and the results are nothing but general posts...they have nothing to do with my search criteria...

Just a guess here Chris, but maybe if you SPELLED IT RIGHT! Moron... :D

What is IAT for $300 Alex.....

Again what about the chat room and what are the rules in the chat room? Is it more free form? Maybe that's a good place to go to do whatever it is that you are looking to do? :)

The search function on the site is useless, about as helpful as a mesh umbrella in a monsoon.

If you want to find something use Google to search the site (like previously mentioned).

Open Google window, enter the item you want to find along with mercurymarauder.net and poof... It shows up with no hassles! :)

That's the way I do it.

I'll admit I use google too. You can restrict google search results to a specific domain by using "site:mercurymarauder.net" as a term in your search.

The forum search does work but you have to use exact terms. Google offers a bit more flexibility when using multiple terms.

Just do what Dom does and start a new thread to ask your question, no sense wasting your own time using the 'Search' function.......:P
