Wanted To Buy Shifter cable for 2003 Marauder.

I'm looking for a used one in good shape or N.O.S. for myself to have as a backup in case the one on mine should break in the future. The Ford part number for it is 3W3Z-7E395-AA. Ford shows that it's a discontinued part (no surprise) and not available in the aftermarket auto parts businesses. This part would also fit a 2003-2005 Ford Crown Victoria LX Sport & Mercury Grand Marquis LSE.

6W3Z-7E395-A. Still available at Ford.

I checked with various online Ford parts houses and they're showing that this part number won't fit anything older than a 2005 model CV or MGM (MM included). I would think the length is the same, but the mounting tabs to the shifter and/or the transmission may be different. Perhaps the part number was updated from what I posted originally by Ford. :dunno:

I'd assume it would work, because there wasn't a big change between 2003, 2004, 2005 & 2006 panther-chassis vehicles.
