Hi,

I ordered new front tires this weekend since they are wearing. The tires came in yesterday to Big o Tires. Made an apointment for this coming Saturday.

However, my brother and I carpooled today. He drove the Marauder and dropped me off. He called me and one of the front tires started making noises. He made it to his client and now the tire is flat.

He is going to try and change the tire. Niether of us have changed the tire on this newer car. What does he need to know on how to do it on this car? Is the mini doughnut spare for the front only? Or is it for the back tires?
 
It fits temporarily on all wheels. Turn off the traction control before he motors away. I believe there is a speed limit to the donut as well.
 
OK, so turns out there was an autozone right near where my brother was working. He drove my car there. My boss lives near that area so I got a ride there. Once I got there, I helped my brother who bought a jack to change my tire. I was assuming the tire was flat but it wasn't flat. It had tread seperation all on the left inner side but was managing to stay together. Anyway, went ahead and popped the spare on and we were off. Still have my alignment and new front tires appointment on Saturday. Never seen a tire before with one strip of tread all the way around missing and still holding itself together.
 
Don't you just love telling the auto shop time and again not to put the big wheels in the front. Then they call you and say there is something wrong with your rev limiter. Lol. Then you have to tell them again, "uh, did you put the big wheels in the front like I told you not too?".
 
So since my jack was missing, I went to my Ford stealership to get one. The original part number has been replaced several times by different part numbers superseeding or whatever. So my question is this: I know that the Marauder and most modern panthers have that covered area on the right rear in the trunk that the jack is supposed to be tucked in. Is there anything special about the original Marauder jack? It did get its own part number for awhile. Does it fit in the trunk a certain way or will any CrownVic/Grand Marquis jack fit in there just fine as long as I can velcro the liner back over it? How is it secured or is it just placed back there?
 
Well my MM jack looks the same as all my CV jacks from years back, It was packed with a MM picture of how to jack it, in a grey carpeted back with velcro that held it closed, it slid between the spare and the side of the trunk for mine...its hard to explain.
 
OK, sounds like I should just get whatever Ford gives me and then it should fit in the existing location fine.
 
You should not have to turn off the air suspension switch if your jacking up front only,by the way.only if rear wheels will be hanging,that is jacking up rear end from the frame.i always jack up the rear from the axle so i dont mess with the switch.
 
The Marauder specific jack part number is 3W3Z17080AA, but it also shows that I would need a Jack Mounting Bracket to secure the jack in the velcroed trunk pocket area. I also see some kind of lug wrench retaining nut listed with a part number. Not sure if I would need that.

Anyone have a pic of thier jack and how it secures in the trunk?

When I got my car in 2006, it only had a minispare, the cover, and a lug wrench. Didn't even know there was a specific space for a jack, just thought that corner was poor design with the shabby felt material just velcroed on.
 
The Jack and wheel tool just gets wedged under the tire and the works is held down with a threaded hook, giant washer and tiedown crank.

I did buy the Marauder specific part number jack. My parts guy was able to find one. It appears no different than Crown Vic/Grand Marquis. It even says on it for use with Crown Vic/Grand Marquis and Town Car.
 
OK, so the jack is the Marauder part number. Pictured in the picture. Plus the jack hold down kit from a grand marquis. The picture on the spare tire cover (which is coming apart) shows for Crown Victoria Grand Marquis that the jack is secured somehow behind this flap. Still can't figure out how the hold down works? Or was the Marauder jack not secured in the same way?

Also, since we are talking about trunks, what is the part number for the spare tire cover? Mine fell apart shortly after I got the car. I bought one for a Grand Marquis but it is different.

And what are the part numbers for the floor material? I spilled some carpolish wax at one point and was never able to get it out.

And a few of the connectors in the trunk are missing. Any part number for those?

Mine is not where your redbox indicates. Remove spare tire - under the tire, on the deck, all the way up against the back seat, is a cloth pouch the same color/appearence as the carpet. Inside the pouch is the jack & lug wrench. It is only held in place by the spare tire pinching it to the deck. Check, yours might still be there & you bought the new jack for no reason (which would be a bummer).
