Thought it would be cool to start a thread for members to tell their stories about their friends and families reaction to the acquisition of their MM. I'll start:
The first day I drove my MM to work, most of my co-workers congregated in the parking lot to see what the hell a "Mercury Marauder" was. I had spent 2 weeks trying to explain it, but they thought I was crazy because they had never heard of such a car. As they strolled out, many of them stood just staring.
Finally someone said something. "This is one of the f*cking coolest cars I've ever seen!"
I proceeded to give a few rides. I picked one of the office hotties to ride shotgun, and merged out onto the highway. She likes to play it cool as the other side of the pillow. But she quickly lost her sense of cool when I entered a mild bend in the highway at about 120, changed lanes, and headed for the off-ramp to head back to the office. She yelled "Oh my God!" and breathed out quite heavily. She was grabbing the seat and "oh Sh*t" handle with white knuckles. As we slowly entered normal traffic in town, she looked at me and nervously laughed, breathing quite quickly.
I think she needed a cigarette. I made sure someone gave her one.
