Hi !!!!!
I have 04MM and several months ago I could heard a strange sound.:(

The sound appear in D when I put gas between 6-12mph. And when I'll go to stop between 20 to 0mph. If I do that with the selector on 1 or 2 the sound not appear....very strange.
The sound is like a "nock" and is more or less the time that one wheel turns .I can hear it on the rear. I can feel on the Car.
Notice that I just have change the A. Transmision(the sound is the same) and we oppened the cover axle and all looks grate. We put the correct lubricant and additive.
Please if you can help me I'll very gratefull.:bows:

Thank you so much.
Best regards from Spain.

No, How can I check them???

Put the car on a lift or jack it up and rotate the drive shaft back and forth while in neutral. Be sure to chock the front wheels. If it clunks and the drive shaft has noticeable play in it, U joints should be replaced.

Also while you have it up in the air, check rear axels for excessive play by moving the wheel towards you and away from you. Listen for crunching sounds as the wheels spin when you rotate by hand.

Get under the Marauder, grab the drive shaft at one end and try to move it up and down, back and forth. Look at the u-joints to see if thee is any play. Do both ends.

Thank you so much.
I'll do this afternoon to see if could be them. I'll check them and tell you what's happen.
Thank you so much. Sorry about my awful English.
Best regards.

What is a differential slip?

If it's making the sound without the car moving, the problem isn't in the differential.

Hi!!!!
One noise you can heard is the alternator pulley at idle....
The another like a "clonk" is with one wheel on the air, on D.
The wheel spin whitout any effort. I can spin one wheel with my hands (one in the air and one the floor.
I don't know what is wrong.

I heard the same clunk sound in both videos...

In the videos, the car is in Drive and your foot is on the brake, yes?

if thats with the rear wheels in the air, sounds like somthing is broken in the rear end
but also, crawl in under there and try to figure out where its coming from. sounds like a pretty load noise

use a piece of wood, like a short broom handle, press it up to the trans and to your ear, listen for the noise.

that shouldnt be to hard to pin point with that kind of noise.

I'd pull the rear end cover. Could be bad ring, pinion or spider gears. If not at least you changed the fluid.

Use 75w140 synthetic fluid and silicone gasket maker.

Hi to of all you.....in the smae way as several months ago....
I put an another transmission same noise, rebuilt the first transmission that has been placed in the car originaly and the same noise again. I "can tell" that the car had 3 different transmission and the noise is exactly the same. In 1 or 2 selected no noise but at the same speed when I put D the sound appear again. That appear from 6-12mph and 12-0mph. Can feel light jerks when do that.
The differential fluid had be changed 75w140 and the additive. Look inside the differential.....and all looks perfect.
When we put the transmission the U joints looks good.
I don´t know what can be.
Can do that noise the transmission tune???? When the mechanic put me the eaton M112, program the engine and I don´t know if he "touch"something in the interface of the transmission tune.
Any suggestions.....it gone me crazy.....more than 3 years in a dead road.

Parking brake? Do you use it? Its inside the rear brake rotors,,Its like a drum brake inside the rotor hat,, Have you pulled the axles?
