vintage Marauders

Not much on line about vintage Marauders. We're going to check one out this weekend. My son is looking for a second vehicle and we have a decent looking 64 two door 390 car in the area. I've seen a few in the auction history on mecum. Anyone know if there is an active forum on these?

mercurymarauder.org is dead. I rarely see action there any more. I've been hoping to stir a little interest here. Maybe I can help.

You're going to want to check a '64 for rust in the rear quarters, rockers, and front fenders in that point right above the headlights.
Frames on '63-4 aren't nearly as prone to rust as the '65s, but take a look at it.
Take a good look at the fuel tank. It's different than the Ford and prone to rust.

Ford parts:
Doors are the same as a '63 Ford and are available.
Most drivetrain parts are easy to find.

If I can help any more, let me know. (Sorry for the delayed response)

Love the car, but them tail pipes are FUGLY!

$8,600 seems like a steal and I'm surprised it's not long gone.

Great looking car!

If they claim that the original wheel covers are those in that last picture they are wrong. Just FYI. There are 3 different covers it could have come with, but those are Ford covers in the pic.

Good luck!

Thanks. They don't claim those are the original wheels. He says he has the original rims and hubcaps that came with the car.

This one turned out to have some rust issues. Patched behind the rear wheels which wasn't too bad but the frame had been reinforced on one side and the body mounts under the front seat were toast. Nothing that can't be fixed but at this price it's going to sit with this owner for a while.
