Washing Brush used on Marauder

I've been kinda in poor health lately...Hard to reach and bend up & down... (getting better though)...:D....but I gotta wash my Marauder..:D
Researched and read a lotta stuff and decided to buy the "Griot's" Boars Hair Brush and Handle...$89.99...$$$.
It worked great, but it's heavy... handle is made from steel pipe...
I'm going to make my own aluminum handle and I think it will be much better and easier to use...I would only recommend using this on a well waxed and polished finish... at this time no signs of brush marks, but I'm keeping a close eye on the finish ...
Hope someone may find this helpful..

The better BHBs are made by Universal Brush; some of Griot's seem to come from there but others (including their current conventional-style one) do not and didn't fair well in my testing.

My only issue with BHBs (which I use at every wash) is that used properly (i.e., so gently that you don't rub the sides/shafts of the bristles against the paint) they sometimes don't get all the "road film"-type dirt off, requiring a follow up with a mitt/etc. No biggie as the BHB gets the "big stuff" off, and IMO that's what's most responsible for wash-induced marring.

I have a horse hair brush that I use on and off since like....'73..I use it on the pick up with no issues and I have used it on the marauder.

my uncomplicated way to wash my Marauder

:violin:drive my slow DTR to the local Super Kiss, pay for a brushless Super Kiss wash, go thru while listening to the radio, pull it outside and I dry it off myself with a foam type squeegee and an old towel....out to the street and do a massive burnout with the wet tires to impress all the young employees who have been slobbering over the car, go home and relax while waiting for the wife to bring me a cold brew....case closed........Quality is job 1..

I've used a soft truck washing brush with a wooden handle for well over 20 years on all my cars and they've never suffered. The Marauder is still gonna look crappy because it came with the special early build crappy paint option. I also use a foam gun to spray the soap onto the car.

mrjones-Glad to see you're using the foamgun, me too. One of the best things about brushes IMO is that you can direct the foamgun output (I wouldn't really call it "foam") at the point of brush-to-paint contact, providing constant flushing and lubrication. The way the brushes rinse clean avoids dragging dirt across the paint under pressure. Result- minimized wash-induced marring.
