What are you listening to?

OK. I'm taking a sharp turn here.

This is not a rock, country, doo wop, or hip hop song. It's an instrumental from decades ago, but it's one of the prettiest songs I've ever heard.

I don't think that most of you folks will like it as I do, but for the one or two of you that might, enjoy.

My friend, Frank, died the other day. He and I carpooled from 1980 to 1997, 70 mile round trip. In the early 80's, he had a Comet (Maverick twin) with a 302 V8. Then he bought a BMW manual trans, 4 wheel drive.

Frank was an accomplished piano player, having played with many bands in the 50's, including Tito Puente. At July 4th parades, I would see him atop a float playing the piano with a few other band members.

We stayed in touch, went for wines and lunches, and, as his condition deteriorated, I'd take him for a walk hanging on to his arm so that he wouldn't topple over. Frank was 86, so kudos to him.

Why am I posting this? I don't know. Maybe because I'm going to his wake tomorrow, and I'm bummed out.

Anyway, this song, especially the meaningful lyrics has caught my attention for obvious reasons.
