What did you do to your car today?

2004 Mercury Marauder Interactive Owner's Experience CD-ROM

This was missing from my car. Ordered one from an eBay vendor on 4/22. Tracking shows it's been sitting at the Hightstown, NJ PO since the 23rd; opened 'missing package' case yesterday. Vendor had one left; ordered it today.

Marauder was up for rotation yesterday.. My thoughts: runs, looks and drives great. Complaint? Trans. often shifts too soon, especially under light to moderate throttle (as compared to my Mustang with CAI and tune). Could use a CAI too. A proper tune should clear things up. Appear to be averaging well over 20 mpg on E0 93.

Mailed an important document envelope on or about the 22nd to Washington, DC - never arrived. Only tracking shows the label printed on the day I dropped it off locally. Missing Package case opened too. Remailed it a couple of days back from a different PO - was received at destination today. Many neighbors are complaining about local mail issues of late.

5/4 Update: Things are getting really weird with this particular eBay seller (vintageautoliterature). No 'order shipped' notification on the purchase made last week - tracking shows 'label printed' (guessing he does that at home?), and 'USPS awaiting receipt of the shipment'. Notified seller yesterday and ordered his so-called 'last copy'. Received eBay's 'Order Shipped' notification this time. USPS tracking is the same as before: 'Label printed; USPS awaiting shipment'. Vendor responded today: 'This item is currently on backorder awaiting Ford to produce more' or something to that effect. If and when he responds again I will request full refunds on both items. Will ask to be put on a 'notification list' should he come across some more in the future. Man ole man, my 1st ever 'hiccup' on eBay.

Nice shiny new power lines

Watch out.

Intalled the EMP-Stewart water pump after flushing the cooling system.
Also flushed the power steering fluid.

Had the impeller on two of those separate from the shaft. Beware. Keep your eye on the temp gauge; it's a rather digital event. In fact, I would put a factory pump back on there stat if it was my car.

Im taking a drive now to Ft. Lauderdale, might swing by Las Olas have a drink with the wife to unwind from this week.

5/5 Update: Orders never shipped as vendor never actually had the items in stock. He did issue me a full refund back through PayPal. He insists that the Marauder Interactive Owner's Experience CD-ROM in question is still being pressed and will notify me when they come in - not holding my breath. Out of the many eBay transactions I've done over the years, this is the very first 'malfunction'.

Replaced rear air bags, installed rear addco , new end links, and rear shocks. Got it back on the ground. Planning on an alignment next week.

Sold my oem ford intercooler , and bought an LFP/Griffin intercooler! Travis thread got me to thinking about using a 14 year old intercooler instead of getting the LFP part glad I made the switch!

Actually the yard car.. A couple of weeks ago I bought a John Deere LT160 on the ultra cheap cheap and went to town with the buffer. Turned out not too shabby for an 02’ to ‘06 model (VIN tag long gone) owned by a farmer who no doubt didn’t concern himself with cleaning it..

I installed the mulching deck yesterday and my GOD that thing sounds like a mix of well oiled twin turbos, 60” shop fan, and possibly a huge shop vac! And not one blade of grass was missed even with the horrible blades that I tried to sharpen! This tractor is easily the best built most solid, and straightest cut mower I’ve ever owned with perhaps the cheapest price of $380..

I only bought it to move my car hauler in and out of its parking spot maybe twice a year and to mulch leaves come fall but with a tiny 42” deck I might just use this machine I leu of the pusher on my postage stamp lawn.

The only issues I’ve seen is a cracked side wall leaking a little air in one front tire and a mystery oil leak under the shroud I’ll have to address, and the wrong model sticker on the replacement hood. No biggie there..

The Marauder saw a few miles running errands and such. Still get plenty of compliments every where she rolls! After all these years it still blows the wife’s mind just how many people strike up a conversation every time it’s out.

That's a clean little John Deere!
I've got to find a new riding mower for my Father-in-law....he's not very nice to his mowers and beats the snot out of his big Kubota.
He's got close to 50 acres and insists on maintaining and cutting at least half of those acres!

BTW: Must get the correct sticker....want to make sure that everyone knows you've got the BIG 160 model....:D
Stickers are important....get more of them and put a big '77' on the hood!
