What did you do to your car today?

On the rat bike in the last week:

Finally came up with a mounting idea with the rear fender to float with the back tire.

Added air pod filters to rid the overly huge air box.

Rewired the whole bike front to back and simplified it.. I took it from 49 wires!?! to 13...! And really all I eliminated was the horn, flash to pass, automatic signals, kill switch, and the ignition switch.

Hidden kill switch added/key switch delete

I made a small dash board and fitted it with push button start, LED’s for turn indicators, oil, hi beam, and neutral, a couple of simple toggles for hi beam/low beam on the right, and L/off/R on the left.

New drag bars, controls, and grips.

Freehand lettering with a sharpie LOL

And finally got around to fixing the dent in the fuel tank.

More to come! I’m thinking forward foot controls are in order next. [emoji1303]

Passenger side out today, little more work, more stuff in the way

Luckily the right side manifold nuts only slightly corroded. 13mm, 12mm, 1/2” all fit snug and backed the studs right out

I had the exterior, door jambs & engine compartment of the Marauder professionally detailed 2 weeks ago for a car show & it looked real nice. Also replaced the IAC valve {idle air control}to solve an occasional stalling while braking to a stop & a low idle speed while parked or when stopped at a light/traffic sign. It's working as it should & a piece of cake to replace on the upper throttle plenum.

Installed my metco control arms a few weeks ago. Wife replaced the window regulator and motor last week. Saturday it got demoted as the fun vehicle for a little while at least.

I took my Marauder, put some flags on it, a VFW magnetic sign on the door, (I'm post commander) and went out to a parade to celebrate America with my Quartermaster, and my service dog...

Beautiful dog. Always liked German Shepards, but I'm leary to get one because of the hip dysplasia issues so many of them get. Car looks great too. Two mooks in the pic I'm not to sure about. ;)

Changed the blower oil for the 500 mile break in. Yay.

I’m getting rather good however. I only managed to lose between 2-3 drips in all using a cut up slurpee cup. Wild cherry if it helps anyone else. [emoji6]

Rolled me a sweet pointed nose Zeppelin funnel to add the new.. [emoji1303][emoji16]

Well, not today but last Sunday and Monday, with tips from Bob and other guys here: pulled the COT and sanded it out lightly to remove some bubbled paint and rust, then repainted it with semi-gloss high temp paint. Reinstalled with new o-rings

Replaced the oil filter housing gasket, then new coolant and oil of course.

After assembly oil sending unit started leaking so ordered a replacement which I’m installing after work today.

Removed the idle air valve off the throttle body to get access, and replaced the throttle position sensor, which stopped the engine surging I had been experiencing.

Removed my Metco / PHP CAK and reinstalled the stock air box because I have to get it smogged this week. Reflashed the tune to stock for the smog check. I have to drive it for a few days until the Scangauge reports “No codes found, READY,” or they won’t smog it. (I hate CA.)

Removed the ABS module and sent it to Module Repair Pro; total cost with shipping was $111, and hopefully they can fix it.

Ordered a new blend door actuator, and doing a bunch of reading here to try and learn how to install it. (Not sure if I should do the EATC o-rings at the same time, but going to order some just in case.)

the squeaks / rubbing continues, but I did the rotors and brake pads (today) , as well as the Passenger side front sway bar end link (today) .
I think the bushings in the lower control arms are FUBAR.
its sounds like a light metal on metal rubbing when I make right turns

Washed the SB with a sample pack of Meguire's Ultimate car wash I got at Carlisle. Car looks worse than when I started. Total garbage product. Has anyone tried the Mr. Clean ( I think that's who makes it) with sheet drying action. Trying to avoid water spotting as much as possible.

Yesterday, repaired the front speaker connectors for the driver's door speaker. Cleaned and recharged the K&N CAI filter. Been busy lately don't want to neglect her no more than I have to.

The original product stripped all the Wax off to allow the sheeting.
