What did you do to your car today?

used VP fuel system cleaner. VP racing has good products (knock on wood) I used the coolant and it lowered the marauder's operating temp by 6-10 degrees

Car had constant squeaking in the front end going ~20mph. Couldn’t figure it out for the life of me.

Went onto crownvic.net and lo and behold the solution to my problem was greasing up the striker wire of the hood. She’s silent now.

Still in awe that that was causing the insufferable squeaking.

Wasn't today, but the other day I finally managed to get the dead battery out when the holddown bolt snapped. Kinda half-assed holding in the spare battery for now.

Forgot to post up here about the headlight polishing. I used the Mother's aluminum wheel polish on a rag and it got a bit better. Then I tried using a battery drill with a lambs wool type pad. It got a wee bit better still, but the headlights are not as clear as I would like. I can now see the bulb inside the housing that was very hard to discern before. The yellowing is pretty much gone, but there is still some white stuff left. Some of the white or cloudiness seems like it might be inside the lens. So long story short the lights are better, but could use a bit more work.

Got a text back from my bodyman. He got the bodywork done on my driver's QP and hopes to paint it this weekend. He noted that the car had been resprayed what appears to be 3x previously. I've owned the car since '08 and haven't had any work done there, and the OASIS makes no mention of any such repair while under warranty. Wondering if this was done on the STAP line or if Pete (Wags) had work done on it at some point when he owned it. I know Darkside (the second owner, right before me) didn't have any paint done then.

I bought mine two years old with 14,000 miles and found out years later the passenger fender, header panel, and the entire drivers side had been repainted. No paper trail either..

I feel ya on that. I bought mine three years old with 51K, and years later started discovering evidence that it was in an accident. Whatever happened didn't make it to any documentation like Carfax.

Changed the skull caps on My CV Sport, like why didn't they come painted to begin with!? Stupid. Looks way better now.

Had a clicking sound coming from the rear. So I removed the rotors, found the parking brake material unbonded from the shoe. Just riding around in the rotor drum. But the biggest surprise was the inboard pad on both sides. They have 3 prongs that hold them in the piston. They have been on so long that 2 of the prongs had rusted away. So I get to throw some pads on the rear tonight when I get home.

Showed it to a field adjuster who deemed the car not a total loss, removed LR axle, pressed in new studs, reinstalled, parked...awaiting word from a couple body shops.

Wow shitballs Adam! been away from the forum too long. what happened? What's the update?
