Will 4V Heads Work on a 2V Motor?

I have heads came rom a 2003 marauder. I have a 2000 Grand Marquis. Can I install these heads on my motor?

I would do the whole motor but I'm living In lorida and Im getting ready to move back to St. Louis and I dont have room to bring the whole motor with me. Do you think that entire motor would sit in the trunk o my Grand Marquis? I had the 390 motor out o my Galaxie disassembled once beore in it so makes me wonder, will the 4.6 go in?

Sorry but the letter that comes beore "G" and ater "E" doesnt work any more lol

the heads will work but i believe you will need a piston swap. you will also need a 4v timing cover and allt he crap that bolts to it.. and yes the motor will fit in the trunk of a panther

Hmmm The whole motor maybe coming with me then Unless I can just do the heads and everything would be ok.

A piston swap isn't needed however now you have 2 extra valves per cylinder and 1 extra cam in each head....... the 2v computer is not going to understand that so your 1/2 swap is more headache then it's worth.

according to sean hyland 4valve engines have 3cc dish pistons in all apps since 93

I don't see why installing the entire motor is less headache than just the heads. I think its pretty simple to have the computer tuned.

There are a few guys that have swapped a 4V into a GM or CV and in the end they all said it would have been easier buying a Marauder to begin with. There are some decent mods you can install that would put down more power then going through the hassle of a head swap.

You can't tune for 32 valves and 4 cams when they're not written into the base program.

Don't have to. The Cam sensor, crank sensor etc are in the same spots for the 2V or 4V. Only the larger injectors, MAF, and fuel/spark maps need adjusting.

Plenty of 4V swaps have been done to 2V cars, even into EEC-IV OBD1 models.

Of course it's a big PIA to swap the 4V into a 92-2002 model due to the frame and some have build up the 2V to put as much or more RWHP than a STOCK Marauder 4V, seen 13 second NA 2V Crown Vics with stock heads and short block. Just cams, long tube headers and TB/CAI etc mods.

Who makes long tube headers for a 2000? What Cams?

Stainless works now makes headers for the 92-2002 2V panthers

He used Hitech Stage II cams and a Marauder airbox/80 mm MAF

4V conversion will work either way: complete engine or just the heads and all associated parts.

If you put the 4V heads on the 2V engine you will have low compression. The 2V pistons have a different size dish than the 4V pistons.

Well I think it would be cheaper to buy headers and came for my car. If I put these heads on I would have them rebuilt too. I think ill just sell the 4v motor to buy other parts.
