meeting went well.....Brad checked out another Holiday Inn that will book 50 rooms much cheaper than the Holiday Inn in Tinley Park....few other venues to check out for activities and we should be off and running.....details coming soon.........:beer:
 
Sorry I missed tbe meeting, in St Louis area tending to the care of my hospitalized daughter
Glad there's a breakthrough with tbe hotel which was one of the biggest obstacles

Wow, I need to check in more often. Can't believe I missed these get togethers at Fox' right in my backyard. Is there an upcoming meeting scheduled yet?
 
windy city bid for Marauderville

My apologies for not getting this posted sooner.....to confirm, there is NO meeting tonight 11/18....everything should hopefully be finalized by next week to get the bid in on time
 
We basically have alot of the information together and will be working this week with various members to fine tune some details.

Thank you everyone for your help and input on this matter. I know we will have a great Marauderville bid and hopely we can get this event.
 
We did have weekly meetings and they were posted on this thread. We received a lot of great ideas from so many people that it was a bit overwhelming at times but we are finally getting a plan in place.

If someone had told me that it would be this tough to find hotels that could accomodate all of our needs and be within our normal price range I would have thought you were crazy. But it has been something of an adventure ...trust me.

I have a new appreciation for all the hard work our members/owners go through to find and retain these great accomodations that we are all used too. If you get a chance you should thank them directly for this as it is a real pain in the butt!

We will also be putting a call out for volunteers and people to run certain things if we receive MM.net's nomination.

So if you havent been able to attend a meeting no worries we will have plenty of stuff for people to get involved in.
 
Okay Everyone -Just wanted to post to let you know that the Chicago Bid was submitted for Marauderville 12!

Sorry for the delay in posting this but Sunday night during the snow storm my wife and I were driving seperate vehicles, hit a patch of black ice and we totaled both of them. Everyone is okay and I am now working on my options with the insurance company.

The important thing is my wife and kids are okay and we all walked away without a scratch.

And before you ask NO the Marauder was not involved. It is safely stored in the garage.

I would like to personally thank everyone who attended our meetings and those who gave us many ideas for this event. Your work and efforts were very much appreciated. I could not have even come close to doing this without your great support.

I hope we can count on everyone for volunteering if we win the bid.

Thank you my friend! It shook the kids up a little bit but we are all good.

Dealing with insurance companies is like going to the dentist for a root canal

You keep screaming stop but they keep drilling you :eek:
