I am looking to trade my toy for a MM that I can enjoy AND haul friends.
I have a 1980 Futura with
393w (forged short block, Windsor Sr heads, Vic Jr intake)
Tko500
Blowproof bell with Alum flywheel and new Spec stage 2 clutch
Built 31 spline 8.8
5 lug all the way a around with slotted/ drilled rotors
Caged
I value the car at 9k

I love driving it but am I have wanted a MM for a long time and now need a nice car to drive so now is the time. I will get more pics soon. I prefer Black but Silver is good too.

NIce! I had an 82 Cougar XR-7. Basically the same car different sheet metal. Loved the car. Rode like a Lincoln. Mine only had the very uninspiring 4.2L V8. The only downside. Yours has non of those flaws though.

WOW! Now there's something you don't see every day. A 5-speed too?!? I bet that thing is a blast to drive. Ever run a 1/4 with that set-up?

Good luck with your search.

I have not yet but the last owner had it together with a smaller motor and went a best of 10.90's I figure it should be in that ballpark and with a forged short block I see no reason it can't take a 200 shot and go low 10's

 10's?? That's damned impressive!

Not to burst your bubble there but I hope you don't intend to try and run 10's if/when you get your MM. That will cost you LOTS of $$

Really nice car man, my buddy has a mint futura like yours I want it bad!

DOUG!!!! How 'bout a trade?

Mark, if my MM doesn't magically turn into an Acura or Infiniti soon, my wife will be none-too-pleased (my 442 is hopefully going in for motor transplant next week!). If I rolled-up in that Futura, for as cool as it is, consider it my new residence  --> :o

One of the guys that shows up to the local classic car meet has an old Futura like that, stock light blue two-tone paint job and stock wheels. Of course, he also shoved a 427 into it, but for fun he put a very quiet exhaust on it, which makes for some puzzled looks when he walks a lot of hotrods. :D

J/K, meng.
I was wondering if your wife would like a 10 sec DD.

Not at all I want a car I can drive daily when salt is not on the raod, haul 4 people, get 20+ mpg's, Make 400+rwhp in order to be a fun car. most likely lower the altitude and raise the attitude and do some autox with her even though she is a bit big....

I wonder if that's the same guy we ran into many years ago. When my wife and I went to our 1st Fun Ford Weekend in Ennis around 1995, she raced our 89 LX convertible against a car exactly like that, including the 427. She lost handily and was pissed because the guy ran in the high 12s and didn't have a helmet.
