Anyone swap out wiper arms?

Just wondering if anyone here swapped out their wiper arms for the better looking hook style? I had a 2007 crown vic that had the newer style. Not that I swap wipers that often but the hook style looks way better and the wiper itself will look better lower on the windshield. Here are some pics to show what I am talking about.

Current kind that are on our MM's from the factory

I haven't swapped wiper arms, but I am using the older wiper arms with the newer style wiper box and cowl and wiper linkage in an older car with no issues.

Why??

Unless you get the same length, bends, tension etc. The wipers won't work correctly.

I am using the MM wiper linkage as well, and the older arms work fine. I am using the older wiper motor but the old motor bolted right up to the MM linkage. I would try to find a set of old arms from a JY and try them out I bet they work fine.
If not then you are not out anything.

Good idea!

^ha if it didn't rain damn near every other day here or at least a couple of times a week, I would definitely consider that. Didn't the older crown vics and marquis have wipers that lowered into the cowl when they weren't in use? I am assuming that was a separate motor too?

Yes, they did. It is not a separate motor...there is a cam on the linkage that trips a switch causing the motor to operate in reverse, lowering the arms.

That's the way they are on my DD and I hate it compared to the MM. When they are on delay, they sit way up on the glass and the blades suck to change unless you remove the arms.

Since the MM does not have depressed-park wipers, if you did find such an arm, it would have an incorrect sweep.

Couldn't you leave the wipers on, then kill the ignition when they are at full extension?
