Anyone swap out wiper arms?

Actually, I re-read the post you quoted a couple more times and then your question made sense. I mentioned that I have to remove the arms to change the blades on my DD.

To answer your question, no. The problem is that even at full extension you can't move the arm away from the windscreen enough to rotate the blade to where it will come off...the arm hits the hood.

Got it. Yeah, that does suck.

Open the hood and remove the wiper arms.

Never paid much attention to wipers unless they need replacing. Where the wipers sit does nothing for the the look of a car to me.

Fastblackmerc Have you ever thought of cutting the wiper arm then adjusting it and welding it back on so it would sit lower? This could be another service you provide.

No I haven't...........

If you make the arm sit lower it will sweep / clean less area.

You'd have to redesign the motor / gearbox / actuator assembly, I think. The arms would have to rest deep in the valley, then arc over in a sweep greater than afforded by the current actuator.

Or just use a ton of Rain-X. And hope fuzzy bear misses it when they look you over...

I know this is a bit old, but info for anyone else looking at wiper blades or arms. I replaced my factory pin type arms with the hook type arms off of a 06 or 07 CV. I did this so I could use Bosch Icon wiper blades. I have had better life from the Icon blades than the other beam blades and they are not available for pin type arms. The 06 style arms appear to be identical to the factory pin arms except for the hook instead of the pin.

I recently did the same thing in order to use the Bosch Icon wipers. They move and park just like the originals. I hated the pin type wiper arms.
