Any fans of the buick roadmaster?

My supervisor had one of these, he absolutely loved it!!! And i think i.do too! Lol

Although the final generation of Roadmonsters was remarkably ugly, they were a great automobile. Excellent engine, lots of room, and many 9C1 parts would fit.

Kind of like those wrinkly dogs; ugly, yet unique, so you gotta love 'em. :)
 
I've always liked them. Saw one just yesterday, but it was beat. Owner was a hippie, sitting on the trunk, staring at his phone. Obviously does not know how, nor cares, how to care for a car.
 
Love em. Had a 95 and 96 Fleetwood. Same car only bigger and heavier. Even stock they were quick, palatial ride and interior. Saddened I traded it. But I did get a MArauder!!! The first Roadmaster that came out was the wagon. It was shown pulling a Airstream...Awesome!!!
 
The black one in the video is acceptable but as a general rule I think they look like a manatee taking a dump.
 
Roadmaster wagon/Impala SS conversion, absolutely!

Dig me some wagon, although I would do the Olds conversion if I were to do one.
 
My first car was a '95 Roadmaster Limited Sedan. Dark Cherry Metallic with the burgundy leather interior. It rode softer than a Marauder and wasn't nearly as involving to drive. With the Roadmaster, you just point it at the horizon and watch the miles go by. The most fun thing about owning an LT1 Roadmaster at 17 years old is that everyone thinks you've just inherited grandma's car but I did have one of the quicker cars in my high school's parking lot. I used to love to do burnouts at every available opportunity. The wide-eyed stares I used to get from passers by was always fun, along with the shocked expressions I'd get from passengers upon their first WOT experience.

I loved the LT1's power. Stock for stock, an LT1 will eat a Marauder....out of the hole. As the speeds increase, the Marauder's acceleration will walk away from an LT1. The Marauder however, gets much better mileage and is a lot more fun to drive, with much better roadholding and a much sportier feel.

I also think their design is an "acquired" taste. I didn't think it was awful looking, but it wasn't as nice looking as a lot of it's competitors.
 
The difference between My Marauder and Fleetwood in MPG isn't that far off. The MM does get better gas mileage for sure, but the big Fleet I thought got impressive MPG for what it was. Better than my wife's little Neon at the time. The WOT experience I equate to an jet during take-off. You get pushed back in you seat,not to where you can't move, but enuff to make it fun. My Dad was always impressed at how, "...this thing gets up and moves...". Love em all...
 
My first car (shared with my brother). 95 White with red top. All bolt-ons available and it was sick! It got me hooked on bigass luxury/family sedans with V8s!

Loved smokin people in that thing!!:burnout:
 
I go back a bit more than most of you guys.

I remember back in the mid 50's when the smaller bodied Buick Special became the hotter performing Buick Century by the addition of the Roadmaster engine.

(Olds did the same by putting the 98 engine in the 88 and calling it the Super 88. But, Olds had the performance edge with the 4 speed Hydramatic trans over the Buick Dynaflow.)

My dad had a 48 Buick Super convert, straight 8, three speed on the column.

Going on a family roadtrip vacation with that car meant spending more on gas than food, according to my mother.
