Highest Mileage on their Marauder...

47,300 on 03 i bought it with 13,000 a year old and drove an additional 23 the first year and it has taken me 2 1/2 yrs to acheive the 11,300 left and thats with three family out of state vacations. Wife hates my car!!!!!!

You can change over to full synthetic oil now that it is about broken it!!!

200K is no problem......just keep up with fluid changes!!;)

I have almost 170K on mine now and the last 86K with the blower!!!:bows:

Marauderjack
Marauderjack,

I've been using Mobil 1 5W 20 since the first oil change after I bought her at just under 36K miles.

Just for an update

Just to put it on the record I'm at 124,000 miles and just put a Vortech air2air kit on and boy does it smoke the times. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

I bought my marauder with 47,750 and I now have 57,540.
I put on 9,790 miles on her and it was the most enjoyable 9,790 miles. :cool4:
I hope she lasts forever!!!!! >> <<

Ok, I'm going to bring this thread back from the dead. To those of you with Rauders over 100k, how many of you have needed to perform serious drivetrain work? Do these engines have any quarks that are different from the SOHC Crown Vic engines?

I for one. Sucked an exhaust valve seat two weeks ago at 115K.
I blame it on the poor cooling design. Not sure if it's true, but seats on Fords generally only fall if the heads get real hot, so, it's a theory...

I'm installing the evenflowcooling.com fix.

Noisy valvetrains are another difference. It's been said the cams aren't properly torqued at the factory. Driver's side seems more prone. Mine ticks/taps. Going to have that retorqued while it's in the shop.

Can't think of much else to say:confused:

I'll probably never catch some of you guys.

But also for those who are > 100K, what is the life expectancy of our transmissions?
They don't make it to 200K without some sort of rebuild do they?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Rebuilt mine at 160K......Now the rear is whining and groaning......axles and outboard bearings tomorrow and off I go for another 100K++ miles!!!:bows:

Post-100K report

I've had no significant issues with the engine, drive train or transmission.

A few minor repairs, generally in the > $1,000 range for replacing leaking seals or replacing a part that has failed. No major rebuild or internals problems.

I have hit < 101,000 miles since this was started back in January.
