Time saving tip, cooling system!

I did a Google search of the forum and didn't notice any threads mentioning what might be my favorite tool at work. For those that don't know, I'm a full-time ASE mechanic.

I've read a ton of threads on how important it is to properly burp the cooling system, and how difficult it can be on the MM.

This little guy is worth it's weight in GOLD. When you drain the cooling system for service you use this, connected to compressed air, to draw ~25 inches of vacuum on the system (via the expansion tank, on our cars). Once that point is reached, you close a ball valve and monitor the vacuum gauge. No loss of vacuum? Your system is sealed!

Fill a clean 5 gal bucket with 50/50 coolant mix and drop in the fill hose, open the valve and bam. Fresh coolant is drawn in until the system is full. It will over fill the expansion tank, I just use a turkey baster to suck it back out and bring to the proper level.

You ever try it on a 4.6 4v with a COT plug. Bet you it wont completely fill it, but it might get it full enough that it does not overheat, maybe.
 
I have not personally used it on a 4.6 4v, but I have used it on many German cars that have very difficult cooling systems to bleed.

Believe me, it will fill your system to the brim with no air pockets.
 
I duct taped an old funnel to my COT when I still had it and never had an issue burping it. Lucky I guess. Cost > 10 cents.

As stated above it pushes the air pockets out of the cooling system with ease ! Used it several times before i went with a Xover delete kit.
