Tire Size

I have been told that 03 300As can run the same size tires all around, but 03 300Bs and all 04s need a staggered fitment. I have an 04 and need to know why the car needs a staggered fitment. Thanks for all your help.

Tractioncontrol equipped cars neeed to have it or it will casue it to engage traction control. the only way around it is to turn traction control off each time you start the car

^^^what RCR said^^^

03 300A cars did not come with traction control.

The difference in diameter has to be approx 3-6% to keep TC happy.

I am pretty sure the more significant issue is ABS, which cannot be turned off like traction control.

No, it's the traction control that kicks in when all 4 tires are the same size and T/C is not turned off..not hurtin ABS at all..Some memebrs have all the same size for rotation purposes and just turn the T/C off each and every time.

Have you ever done it? I put 255/5518 tires on the rear and noticed the ABS kicked in way more easily than before.

The ABS monitors tire rotation. How could it *not* have an effect?

I've put (4) 225 -60-16 on and drove it from home to storage one winter and no issues except when I forgot to turn off T/C.. I don't run 255/55/18 too squishy feeling for me. ABS doesn't kick on automatically like T/C does..you need to brake for ABS to kick in

What about changing the revs per mile in your tune, to match your rear tire size. Needed to keep the speedo accurate anyway....
