#1 Factory one died at 51k.
#2 Got a stock replacement from John (TooManyFords). I botched a j-mod with the screen and bent the separator plate and the one piston was upside down. Blew out 3rd and 4th gear.
#3 built unit from Eric lasted 191 miles. Lost all forward gears
#4 Eric mans up and rebuilds it at no cost, trying to make things better. I applaud him for this action. But it never had 4th gear.
#5 75k mile unit out of a CV LX sport (from a friend) Only because I just want to friggin drive my stupid limited edition paperweight.

Man you have patience! I would have sold it a long time ago..
#4 might have just been the OD band servo not making contact with the OD band. Been there. Oops. Easy fix to engage it. Good luck on #5!

Interesting story. Didn't realize it got that hot up in your neck of the woods.
Did the exhaust on stepdads exploder today(technically yesterday).
Needed muffler and tailpipe. Dealership quoted 11-1300$(and he works there).
"Well, the flange for the muffler pipe is bad and it will need the y pipe too."
Incorrect. You guys need a welder and someone who knows how to use it.
Parts from napa: <$200. Did it on the ground in the driveway in a few hrs while also helping my younger brother rebuild a carb.
The biggest surprise was the napa muffler is actually stainless.
But then they wouldn’t sell enough ridiculously marked up parts..

I decided to take it out for a quick run to McD's and back. Found this on the driveway after putting it back into the garage. So, in summary, what I did to the car was break it with a 20 minute trip for food.![]()
Well... I'm going to have to disagree with you, there. The last time there was any evidence of refrigerant in the system, it discharged into the cabin. That was around seven years ago.A/C oil leak. The spot where it dripped from should help to identify the leaking component, since they're fairly far apart from each other.
