What do you love most about your Marauder?

I love the radio antenna in the window.

First, The reasons everyone listed why they love theirs is pretty much why I want one. I'm an oldsmobile guy who has ended up with all kinda cars. mercury is one of the newest orphan cars so I know what its like already. secondly, GM has madeNOTHING in rwd big frame car since 96. third, impala SS got that ugly light gray interior(sorry light flint owners) and poor optispark design. Fourth, I love G-bodys and the only one I don't have worth owning is a GN but I need a daily driver. GNs at 27 years old are just too old to drive daily. Also I would never be able to sleep if I drove a GN daily and had to park it places. Ive had a Gbody stolen before.

That reminds me of my friends 98 mustang. The thing had one cup holder, ONE. When I saw my marauder had 4? I was overjoyed.

Lastly, I've never owned a car with a cup holder and I'm excited most about this!!

A little unrelated but youre looking for a low mileage marauder? i recall seeing one on cars.com like 2 days ago at 3.5k miles going for 30 grand.

not that low mile lol. my price range translates to cars with 40k to 80k miles. $10k would be a deal, $12-13K is my mid/average, $15 is the higher end and will stretch to about $17k for something really nice, low miles, with all the options I want.

I've have several G-bodies and you can wedge a soda bottle between the seat and door. my last two dailys was a 95 park ave and currently a 97 lesabe and they got those crap flip out cup holders in the center arm rest that always break. I want a real deal built in cup holder. fountain drinks get cold holding them between ur legs

What I like

The thing I like about my Marauder is that I've driven it hard since day one. It's the BEST vehicle I have ever owned!!!! Since 2004, I've keep it stock and probably invested 4k in maintenance. Really not bad if you consider 10 years of flooring it everyday. Yeah I'm sure your thinking 4k is alot but I have 262,000 on the clock and still going. Now I gotta do timing chains but I'm still not gonna part with it. Just an awesome vehicle and I still get compliments.

Banging gears! And it's most sinister shake, sound, and about to do something really really bad even when parked looks..

Self proclaimed Builder Of Badassery.

Buy it, Break it, Build it BETTER.

Not only is it the beast car I've ever owned....IT'S STILL GOING S-T-R-O-N-G.......after 11 years (next month) and 266K miles!!!:bows::burnout: :D

I love that it hold my two boys car seat, the blower whine like my old cobra and that my oldest askes me to slip(spin) the tires everytime we take it out!

The first time I heard of the Marauder was this article http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=62031&page=5 in the Indianapolis Star. Loved the idea of a full size powerful american-styling car with utiliity of four doors.

I've always been a fan of American classic cars, muscle cars, 60s and 70s big sedans (suicide door Lincoln Continenetal convertible!), vintage cop cars (drop in the big block, baby!), etc. And with the exception of the 94-96 Impala SS and its Caprice ex-cop LTI counterpart, nothing had been seen like it since the old school big block cop cars of the late 60s and early 70s.

Too bad the Marauder never really lived up to what it was meant to be, but I still love it never the less.

I always drove big Fords, started with an 84 G.M., (there was a brief tryst with an 85 LaSabre but I don't even like to talk about that nightmre), and then an 89 Town Car. I remember my dad and grandpa talking about the MM when it came out, they told me about it and I knew I wanted one. The Fastest, baddest, most rare panther around. Waited till they were about 8 years old to finally start seeing them in my price range and jumped on a SB for the crazy-low price of $8K. I've been dumping money in her like it's goin' outta style ever since to keep her on the road, but I like what I like, and hey, once I replace EVERYTHING I won't have to worry for awhile, right? Right? RIGHT?!?!

the marauders are hard spot in Chicago, especially the DTR's. its very rare here, especially when all you see are the black marauders.

I love the Marauder for a few reasons.

1. Such a unique and rare car.
2. Large 4door sedan.
3. Always wanted an Impala SS. But the Merc is nicer.
4. V-8 rwd platform.

That was before I bought my Marauder. I love it even more now because of a few more reasons.

5. Some great modifications can be done.
6. Love the fact that they are way cooler modified to make such a great sleeper.
7. Love all the great people I've met from my 2 Maraudervilles and soon to be 5 Louisville meets along with many local Chitown meets.
8. The Marauder takes great pictures too.

New desktop backgrounds!

1: I saw an ad for the Marauder on TV in '03? had a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old, and a wife in university. No money for anything. I was riding a '73 Honda 750 that was running on a wing and a prayer and the wife was driving an '81 Volvo that thought it was an old British sports car (daily electrical repairs). I just wanted something new that I wouldn't have to crawl under every day to keep running, and the Marauder was badass.

2: finally got one last fall despite the wife's comments about "grampa's GM" and now she asks if she can drive it.

3: turns heads every time I drive it. Kids were all eyeballing it today when I dropped my son off at his football wind up party.

4: there's only two others in my town that I know of.

5: its comfortable.

6: It will hold its own against any local sedan that wants to get rowdy. Its even schooled a few "sporty" cars around town.

7: my kids love it, they always ask if we are taking the Marauder if I am driving them somewhere.
