Big Brakes on a not-so-big Budget? YEP

picture fix

Things to know:
You will need to grind down the aluminum so the bracket sits correctly and the bolts thread in. Pretty self explanatory.... When you can thread the bolts in, you have ground down enough.

Also, look closely to the pic. You will need to grind a small relief where I did so the abutment bracket sits perfectly.
(My holes were enlarged for the cobra brakes on the car before this. Yours will not look this way)

Another pic of grinding:

The factory dust shield will also need to be removed for this.

I've got a pretty big overhang on the brake pad. What did I do wrong here?
The rotors are the 14 inch hart ones, the calipers are the ones mentioned in the thread from rock auto.

Here is the grind down fit. It threads fine right now. It seems like I need to grind down more but then wouldn't it move the holes and not thread at that point?

Thanks for any insights, guys!

Let him answer peepeehead

Lol. But he is right! I used the Jerry approved ebay listing
here as referenced in post 853 and 854. 2012 ford mustang gt500. With the ID opened up as needed, they fit fine. I notice they dish in around the hub, the listing doesn't show that and other member's rotors don't seem to do that either.

You either have the wrong pads, wrong rotors or the wrong caliper bracket.

Yup, rock auto sent me the wrong bracket. the left is a full inch to the bolt hole, the right is half an inch.

Big thanks Zack, you da man! lji372 says your comment is what reminded him about it, which got me to check it out.

Once the bracket thing was sorted out (thanks again jerry) everything went on fine:

Look at those wheel weights just make it!
Dust shield was left on the back. No problems there.
Everything was well thought out, well engineered and the clearances for everything is perfect. Thanks for the hard work guys!

On a scale of Enterprise to Next Gen I give this mod a solid Picard.

I tried weighing everything going on and off. These are rough numbers of me just standing on a scale holding the part:

The stock calipers with pads and SS lines: 35 pounds
Stock rotors: 40 pounds

this kit:
pads: 4.7
brackets: 3.2
calipers: 16
rotors: 50
lines: forgot. my bad.

so the kit is 235.25 vs the stock 232.2. Heavier rotors offset by the aluminum calipers. Ymmv, it wasn't exactly a scientific test

Btw where rock auto failed him cardone covered us.

I fronted him the bracket and my kid powder coated it black (even though he wasn't my customer on those parts). He would have had to pay his powder coated and waited again because customer service and happy marauder owners are my goal.

Next time maybe the fatbastid will just buy from a member.

Just wanted to thank Jerry for this finished product.
Also Zack for the concept/idea.
Finally got around to upgrading from my plain ones.
