Sea Foam Intake Treatment 03 Marauder

My car went a 14.98 @ 94.7 mph in April of this year. With no mods,...just cleaning the intake and throttle body,... same car same track, same tires and same 1/2 tank of fuel, it went 14.81 @ 95.6 mph this past Sun. HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THAT SHERLOCK??? IE. Vortech347. I know what I feel and the beams don't lies. So have fun playing with HD borescope and such things but in the end,....MY CAR RUNS BETTER AFTER USING SEAFOAM TO CLEAN THE INSIDE OF THE INTAKE. PS: It did a wonderful job cleaning the intake and intake runners on my pushrod v8. I guess you going to tell me that I didn't observe that as well huh??? If you don't like it, then don't buy it. I do like it, and I will continue to use it every 365 days.

Black machine: way too many variables to say it took time off the 1/4 mile.....temperature, humidity, track surface, etc.....the closest real world result would be if you did the treatment, at the track, after your first couple runs. I do however like seafoam, and im not saying it didn't make a difference, but you cant call a faster time because of seafoam.....yet.

Both morning were chilly,...I had to where a hoody on both days. I have been racing mustangs for almost 20 yrs. I have a N/A Mustang that runs mid 10's and pulls down 25 mpg. I know all about temp, humidity, track temp, head wind etc... no rookies here. I am the type of guy that scouts the weather out on the weather channel and goes to the track on the best possible times. Both runs were made on nice crisp mornings and I am always one of the first cars in line when passes start @ 11am. And this isn't about et and mph. This is about a car that was starting to feel a little lazy and less crisp. What I am telling you guys is that running Sea Foam through the intake and cleaning the T/B with 2+2 brought back some of the cars performance greatly help with off the line accel. The car runs a little stronger!!!! That was my original objective to start with. Anybody who's Merc is feeling a little sluggish out there,...try it out and let us know how it works for you. Have good day gentlemen, time to hit the gym.

????????????????? Lol
Well Sea Foam does have its plusses as far as Intake cleaning, however there is a U tube video that showed a intake valve [ did not specify what type of auto] that was soaked in Sea foam for 24 hours and minimal residue was removed from the valve, now a similar valve was soaked 24hrs in a major brand injector cleaner [add to fuel type like chevron] and it removed most of the crud off of the intake valve . I know we are comparing oranges and clementine's, and Sea foam is one of the few companies that makes the intake spray set up [convenient] and the tank additive as well . A old Ford tech showed me some years back to disconnect the vac line from your brake booster and slowly poor a good quality injector cleaner very slowly in that intake vacuum line with the engine revved up to 1000 rpm and that will clear up the intake issues from that end [throttle body still needs service though] and in many cases this has canceled the ox sensor code.

I used it once and it was kinda fun smokin' up the whole neighborhood!!:D

I saw no benefit and never used it again......225K mile since then and still goin' STRONG!!:burnout:

BTW.....you can do the exact same thing with a mixture of Diesel fuel and penetrating oil!!

Yes sir - the Diesel fuel is a wonderful thing ,Years back [long ago] I had a 89 Acura legend v6 with a slight lifter tap 36,000 miles, lease turn in shipped from Pauley /Acura Chicago , I added a quart of diesel fuel to the crank case ran it about 5 minutes and drained everything out [automotive Enema] new oil and new filter... ,quiet as a Mouse at idle and chirped tires going to second on occasions. traded it on Zu ZU Rodeo at 130,000 miles /the Ho- sailor kept it another 2 years for his ole lady then he unloaded it [ slight exhaust smoke ]

Never heard of the diesel fuel/pene oil thing thing,...I know its good for cleaning parts so, its makes sense to me. Does it hurt the O2's or the cats? Glad it worked for you man.

Nope....not at all!!:shake:

I run a mixture of TCW-3 Outboard oil (ashless) and Diesel fuel in everything I have....been doing it for 15+ years with nothing but GREAT results!!

2 parts TCW-3 to 1 part Diesel fuel.....1/2 to 1 ounce per gallon of the mixture.......great upper cylinder lubricant and cleaner........(Flame Suit On)!!!:flamer:

Yes of course Sea Foam is a waste of time and money. The more you know about engines...I mean really know about engines (Years of school-decades of working on them everyday for a living) you know it can't work in making your car run better as far as more power.
People who convince themselves that their car runs and accelerates better are people who are that just don't get it.

I can't tell you how many times in my 37 years of diagnosing and repairing cars FOR A LIVING i have had this conversation with people who were sure their Slick 50/Tornado intake device/Sea Foam/Yellow spark plug wires/ Super coils and lighting candles and saying prayers.
Running a .10 difference on a different day means nothing.

Explain in detail why it would work.

But then again...NOT MY CIRCUS - NOT MY MONKEES

Worked for me. I didn't go to school for it,..but I have been working on my own stuff since age 16. Top end, bottom end, etc...I love how some of you guys on here try to convince people of what they feel or don't feel from the vehicle that they drive everyday. Thats like me,...a top level bodybuilder telling a novice that a particular supplement is junk just because it didn't work for me. I know plenty of guys, automotive professionals, that swear by the stuff,...it works for me and in the end thats all that really matters. Oh,...and for the record, I am not big on snake oils and the like and I run autolite and motorcraft plugs in all off my Fords. LOL

Lots and LOTS of variables here since many of you are 2nd, 3rd and 4th owners of cars that just may not be in very good shape when you got 'em so I suppose you can and want to feel improvements!!

For me, I drove my car off the lot NEW in November 2003 with about 6 miles on the odometer and NOTHING has improved the performance except an aftermarket tune while NA and of course the ProCharger...period!!:shake: Since I'm on the equivalent of a "Return Trip From The Moon" mileage-wise I think I know this car pretty well!!:D

I've tried colder plugs, colder thermostat, CAI, SeaFoam, and lots of additives with no real positive results but hey, if you feel improvements then go for it.....it's your car and your money!!

Just don't try to convince me I'm wrong about this!! :shake:

Then don't try to tell me what I feel in my car!!! Mine was also purchased new. Less carbon and varnish in the intake tract and throttle body = better throttle response. My off idle accel is better point blank.

I have a 11 yr relationship with my car and I and I am an ole farm boy that was raised on the YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR STUFF AND IT WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU frame of mind. My car gets spoiled and I know it inside and out.

Car runs and performs better. This is my point A to point B car. My N/A 2900 LBS Coyote Swapped coupe is my 10 sec fun ride. As for gaining .10 on similar days isn't anything. Lose a tenth on similar weather days then tell me that B/S Applesauce Guy. LOL
